Over my lifetime, a plethora of verses have spoken to my heart. But none quite like Psalm 46:10. In a world where everything is fast-paced, it's hard to just be still. At least, it is for me! And if I had to guess, it is for most of us. But many of the sweetest blessings I have been given came when I was still before the Lord. So many life circumstances cause us to react quickly. I think it's in our nature to do so. We want to fix something or find out how to make "it" better. And often without seeking guidance from Him in which all blessings flow. Even in the midst of terrible circumstances, God has a lesson to each us. I have learned through all I've experienced that I refuse to NOT be changed for the better.
Too often the dichotomy of what we know and how we respond is growing further apart. We begin to trivialize lessons the Bible has to teach us. I love to share my story with others. I am always honored to share the message He has laid on my heart. Most recently, after twenty years of waiting to start a family, wondering if it was ever going to happen, my husband and I received a phone call that would forever change our lives. Our local Social Services office had heard about us and wondered if we would be interested in giving an eight month old little girl her forever home. After some hesitation (about 2 minutes or so!) we were overjoyed to finally walk through the door of parenthood. The lessons God taught me through those 7,322 days of waiting were worth every minute.
I am passionate about many things, but, above all, I love to teach God's Word and share how good He is! I am available to speak and would love the opportunity to do so. Feel free to contact. me anytime.

About me
Growing up in eastern Johnston County prepared me for life. I can freeze and can vegetables, shoot a gun, make lye soap (if I had to), and start a fire with a little lightered pine. Married 24 years to a pastor, I have learned that sometimes your only friend is Jesus. And Clorox. I love Clorox. Which is why I have a hard time sitting still. I love to clean... with Clorox!
Like most people, I've experienced hurts, heartaches, victories, and everything in between. These experiences have led me to further my education and earn a degree in Biblical Counseling. I feel that God is calling me to help others navigate through life's challenges. I reside in Wilson's Mills with my husband, Steve and daughter, Ella. We love Nascar, gardening, and watching our daughter grow. We also adore our church family at New Life Baptist Church in Smithfield. We consider it a wonderful privilege to serve God with such an amazing group of people. |
