Frequently asked questions.
Q. What type of Association is TEBA?
A. TEBA is made up of Southern Baptist churches that span across six counties: Johnston, Sampson, Harnett, Nash, Wayne, and Wilson. The contributions from these churches sustain the organization.
Q. What are the primary goals of the Association?
A. We exist to help each of our local churches with particular needs, whatever they may be. We also seek to cooperate as a group of churches in various mission opportunities, training church leaders, and basically, working together to promote unity, fellowship, and growth among our member churches.
Q. What doesTEBA do?
A. What don't we do is the better question! We are here to serve our churches with whatever they many need. We offer training for all ministry areas, pastor search assistance, promotional material design, and web-site design are just a few things we can help you with. Whatever you need, we are here to help. Check our resource page for more details and descriptions.
Q. What kind of training is available for the local church?
A. Leadership training opportunities are available several times a year through the State Convention, host churches, and surrounding Associations, but if a church needs help during the year, our ministry team members are ready to assist in any way possible. Whether you are involved in WMU/Women’s Ministries, Baptist Men, Deacon Ministry, GAs, RAs, Pastor Search, VBS, Evangelism, Sunday School, etc., we are here to help you as an individual or a church.
Q. What does a typical TEBA Southern Baptist church look like?
A. In some ways we are the same and in many ways totally different! We are made up of large churches, middle-sized churches, and small churches. Our congregations represent blue collar, white collar, cowboys, bikers, Hispanics, and many other diverse groups. Half of our churches have a weekly attendance under 100. We worship the same God in different ways and do mission projects together. We believe in independence, interdependence, cooperation, and missions.
